Class Description
In this all levels class we will move at a slow flowing pace while taking time to really feel and get into the poses. You will have many opportunities to modify poses to meet the needs of your particular body. With specific alignment cues and sequencing you can bring your body safely poses. This provides opportunity to safely go more deeply or accomplish more advanced expressions of poses if that is what you would like. The goal is to allow each student to recognize and feel their potential. That being said, no one is forced or encouraged to do anything they are not comfortable with. Each class will have a theme weaved through the class. Expect to receive plenty of alignment cues and physical adjustments (if you wish) as well as doses of tantric philosophy – and have FUN! We end with a generous savasana (relaxation). The asana (pose) practice is strengthening for the body and mind. You will leave feeling relaxed and calmly energized, while feeling the openness in your body which results from releasing physical and mental tension.
Slow Flow Using the Ashaya Method
Ashaya Yoga® was developed by Todd Norian. Ashaya (AH-shy-ah) is a Sanskrit word that means “abode of the heart”. The word also refers to the heart as a place of refuge, a sanctuary of the deepest aspects of the self.
This transformational yoga aligns body, mind, and heart to facilitate the awakening of our inherent creative potential as human beings. It blends therapeutic alignment techniques and positive heart virtues to support entry to, or deepening of your yoga practice. It has its roots in Kashmir Shaiva Tantra.
